The short version: one cookie to keep you logged in, one to remember your city, and nothing that tracks you.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar tools, such as session storage, keep small values in your browser for a short time. Sites use them to remember who you are between pages.
02What we use
Groupiie uses only cookies that make the site work or remember a choice you made. There are no advertising, analytics or social media cookies.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| groupiie_session | Cookie, strictly necessary | Keeps you logged in. It holds a random token, is sent only over HTTPS, and cannot be read by scripts on the page. | 30 days, or until you log out |
| groupiie_city | Cookie, preference | Remembers the city you chose or that was detected, so clubs and events near you show first. It holds only a city name, never your location. | 1 year, or until you pick “All cities” |
| groupiie-intro | Session storage | Remembers that you have seen the opening animation, so it plays once per visit. | Until you close the tab |
03Why there is no cookie banner
Our cookies either keep the site working or remember a choice, such as your city, and none of them track you. If we ever add tracking cookies, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
04Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie you can still browse clubs and events, but you will not be able to log in.
